Culturally Sensitive Healthcare Specialist

This critical position serves as a vital conduit and advocate for Aboriginal people presenting to the hospital.
The role requires a demonstrated commitment to delivering culturally appropriate healthcare services, aligning with the NSW Ministry of Health - Aboriginal Health Worker Scope of Practice across all sites of the Central Coast Local Health District.
Key responsibilities include supporting and informing Aboriginal people and their families to ensure an understanding of clinical interventions and service delivery processes that enable informed decisions in relation to their health needs.
Other key accountabilities include working co-operatively within a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to the Aboriginal Community.
Requirements- Aboriginality: Applicants must be of Aboriginal descent through parentage, identify as being Aboriginal, and be accepted in the community as such.
- Hold or aspire to hold a minimum Certificate III qualification in Aboriginal Primary Health Care or a minimum Certificate III health qualification in the area of care.
- Demonstrated computer skills utilising platforms and ability to maintain patient/client records, provide statistical data, and provide reports to management as required.
