Aboriginal Cancer Care Navigator Role

The Aboriginal Cancer Care Coordinator will support and participate in health promotion and educational activities that promote the benefits of screening and early intervention and preventative measures.
Key responsibilities include building trust and positive working relationships with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander patients, their families, and the broader community to promote cancer services through community education initiatives.
Additional key accountabilities include:
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with key Aboriginal stakeholders, including non-government organizations, cancer services, and local health district Aboriginal health units.
- Cultural Sensitivity and Community Relations: Foster strong links and relationships with Aboriginal communities and agencies, promoting a culturally acceptable and competent program delivery.
- Access and Engagement Advocacy: Concentrate on enhancing accessibility and engagement with cancer services by actively addressing barriers.
