About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Aboriginal Social and Emotional Wellbeing Worker to join our team at Yarrow Place, a service of Health and Recovery, Trauma Safety Services (HaRTSS). As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide expert care and support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people, their families, and communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide flexible and intensive therapeutic and healthcare support to young people who are or were under the Guardianship of the Chief Executive.
  • Develop and implement culturally sensitive programs and interventions to address the complex health, social, and emotional wellbeing needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff to provide expert cultural leadership and support, and participate in quality improvement activities and policy development.
  • Engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people, their families, and communities to promote health and wellbeing, and address barriers to accessing services and programs.
Requirements
  • Certificate IV in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care or equivalent.
  • Registration with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practice Board of Australia.
  • Demonstrated experience in engaging with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people, their families, and communities, and providing assessment and interventions for complex health, social, and emotional wellbeing difficulties.
  • Knowledge of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander cultures, family and community obligations, and historical and contemporary issues affecting the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander young people.
