We are seeking an experienced Aboriginal Wellbeing Peer Practitioner to join our team at Sonder AU. As a culturally safe support specialist, you will provide support to individuals and their families who are accessing our services and experiencing mental health challenges.
Key Responsibilities- Utilize your lived experience of mental health challenges and distress to provide culturally-safe support to individuals and their families.
- Work in partnership with members of the Wardliparingga Aboriginal Health Equity Theme at the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI).
- Maintain continuous quality improvement and contribute to generating practice evidence.
- Experience in drawing on lived experience of mental health challenges, recovery, and substance use to provide support to individuals and their families in accordance with Peer Support principles.
- Experience with delivering Peer Support services for people experiencing mental health challenges and/or substance use.
- Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in health and wellbeing settings.
- Certificate IV in Peer Work or equivalent qualification with demonstrated experience in a lived experience or Peer Practitioner role is desirable but not essential.
- Current or willing to obtain a Working with Children's Check.
