Business Development Specialist

A unique opportunity to pioneer business growth initiatives in Australia's Defence environment, supporting national security requirements.

The Opportunity

This role will be responsible for developing and executing business development activities associated with Defence infrastructure programs. The primary focus will be on successfully winning and growing the Estate Works Program in Defence.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and execute business development activities associated with Defence infrastructure programs.
  2. Liaise and oversee bid teams to ensure deadlines are met and opportunities progressed to submission with strong probability of success.
  3. Prepare professionals for contract negotiations when down-selected.
  4. Build a well-defined pipeline of opportunities aligned with the 2025 Defence strategy.
  5. Manage opportunities from initial identification through to tender preparation and contract negotiation.
  6. Conduct competitor and market analysis to ensure awareness of changes that may impact successful achievement of Defence Strategy objectives.
Requirements:
  • Business development or operational experience in Defence-related fields.
  • Degree or Diploma in an engineering or related Marketing/Management discipline.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent people management skills.
  • Strong systems, operational, financial, resource planning, and reporting skills.
