De-escalation Specialist

About the Role

As a De-escalation Specialist, you will play a critical role in preventing aggression and conflict by recognizing early warning signs and intervening proactively to diffuse situations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Employ evidence-based de-escalation techniques, including active listening, non-confrontational body language, and verbal communication strategies.
  • Carry out physical interventions and clinical restraints as required.
  • Take reasonable care for your own health, safety, and wellbeing and ensure that your acts or omissions do not adversely affect the health, safety, and wellbeing of others.
  • Role model calmness, empathy, and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Be accountable for the security, confidentiality, and use of information in accordance with legislation, standards, policies, and procedures.
