Insurance Claim Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Insurance Claim Specialist to join our team. As an Insurance Claim Specialist, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of complex medical and loss of income insurance claims.

  • Manage complex medical and loss of income insurance claims from initial intake to final resolution.
  • Apply trauma-informed communication and demonstrate a deep understanding of the psychosocial and financial impacts of illness and income disruption.
  • Work with vulnerable customers, including those experiencing mental health challenges, financial hardship.
  • Liaise with medical professionals, clients, employers, brokers, and other stakeholders to resolve claims efficiently.
  • Demonstrate strong complaints handling and de-escalation techniques to ensure customer satisfaction.

About the Role

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • Experience with mental health, injury, and chronic illness-related claims.
  • A strong grasp of loss of income calculations, including offsets, waiting periods, benefit caps, and pre-disability earnings.
  • Proficiency in working with vulnerable customers.
  • Demonstrated skill in complaints handling and de-escalation techniques.
  • Confidence in liaising with medical professionals, clients, employers, brokers, and other stakeholders.
