Job Title: Youth Development Specialist

We are a vibrant and inclusive primary school located in Brisbane's northside. Our mission is to foster a supportive learning environment where every child is encouraged to reach their full potential.

This role involves working with the school and the community to identify and provide assistance to students experiencing difficulties at school and/or at home. The successful candidate will be part of our professional team, working closely with students, teachers, parents, guidance officers, and other stakeholders.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Liaising with students, teachers, parents, and other relevant parties to support student attendance and engagement.
  • Monitoring attendance policy to increase awareness of students experiencing problems and facilitating interventions before issues escalate.
  • Building relationships between the school and families of students who show persistent absence from schooling to encourage continuous attendance and support future educational goals.
  • Identifying and providing appropriate assistance to students at risk of leaving school prematurely.
