Job Title: Residential Care Officer

Job Summary:

This role plays a vital part in delivering exceptional care and support to individuals in residential settings. It involves ensuring the physical, emotional, and social well-being of clients, while fostering a safe and nurturing living environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily care, supervision, and emotional support to clients, promoting personal growth and development.
  • Develop and implement individualized care and support plans tailored to clients' unique needs, facilitating activities that promote overall well-being.
  • Maintain detailed records of clients' progress, including incidents, achievements, and challenges, and provide regular updates to management, families, and stakeholders as required.
  • Liaise with families, healthcare professionals, and community organizations to coordinate comprehensive care, advocating for clients' rights and ensuring their voices are heard.
  • E nsure residential facilities meet health, safety, and hygiene standards, participating in regular staff meetings, training, and professional development activities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Residential Support Worker (SIL)
  • Experience supporting participants with challenging behaviors and/or complex medical needs
  • Epilepsy, Anaphylaxis, and Manual Handling certifications
  • Mealtime Management skills
  • First Aid certification with CPR
  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills
  • A current driver's license and reliable vehicle

  • Shift work, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, may be required.
  • Compliance with organizational policies and procedures, including safeguarding and confidentiality.
