About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Speech Pathologist/Clinical Educator to join our team at St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical teaching and speech pathology services for our department and for the University of Melbourne's Department of Audiology and Speech Pathology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and manage patients with communication and swallowing disorders in accordance with up-to-date knowledge of departmental clinical policies and professional standards of practice
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical education programs and provide support to speech pathology staff in the provision of clinical education
  • Ensure that speech pathology services provided are based on the latest available evidence and research
  • Provide information, counseling, and education to patients, carers, and other staff regarding communication, cognition, and swallowing disorders

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology), or Bachelor of Speech Pathology, or equivalent
  • Eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia and knowledge of Speech Pathology Australia position papers and Code of Ethics
  • A valid Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC), or willingness to obtain one
