Studio Lead Role Overview
The Studio Lead role is a pivotal position that oversees all aspects of live or prerecorded content across multiple control rooms and channels. This high-level role requires exceptional multitasking, communication skills, and attention to detail. Working closely with editorial, technical directors, and engineering teams, the Studio Lead plays a crucial role in showcasing excellence in broadcasting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversight of all output from Control Room for live broadcast
- Oversight of all output from Control Room for pre-recorded content
- Directing, cueing, and counting talent and reporters
- Templating rundowns using ENPS
- Controlling vision, audio, and graphics using Mosart GUI
- Collaboration with Technical Assistants to ensure framing, audio, and assign editorial requirements
- Collaboration with Editorial to plan and template rundowns according to editorial needs
- Collaboration with Engineering to troubleshoot all faults
- Proficiency in multiple studio and control room software and hardware
- Shift work roster across multiple channels and control rooms - 24/7 availability
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in a control room environment
- Director, Director's assistant, audio, and technical director experience advantageous
- A good understanding of a live studio control room and its roles
- Experience in using the studio automation system Mosart preferred but not required
- Ability to thrive under pressure and adapt to new technologies in broadcasting
- Enthusiasm and passion for working in a team environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility to work within a 7-day week rotating roster, including regular weekend work and early starts/lates finishes
