Position Overview: As a Senior Product Insights Analyst at Xero, your primary focus will be on delivering exceptional data analysis and insights that facilitate swift decision-making and contribute to the strategic development of our products. You will be adept at formulating key questions, pinpointing essential data points, and employing analytical techniques to generate insights that narrate a clear and concise story, aiding internal stakeholders in problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a trusted advisor to product teams, assisting them in identifying critical business inquiries and devising data-driven solutions.
  • Define challenges and outline solutions, taking into account the business context and the overarching strategic goals of the product and organization.
  • Lead initiatives that encompass multiple portfolios, identifying strategic opportunities that align with Xero's priorities.
  • Collaborate proactively on cross-portfolio projects that advance business objectives and influence the prioritization of strategic initiatives.
  • Understand the data flow from product to analysis, ensuring accessibility and relevance of data. Identify and address data gaps proactively.
  • Provide leadership in the development of metrics and data models, producing tools that enhance understanding of customer behavior and product performance.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of our analytical toolkit by creating tools and processes that support fellow analysts.
  • Utilize both specialized and general knowledge to extract insights from data, applying advanced statistical techniques as necessary.
  • Serve as an expert in advanced analytical methods, such as A/B testing and regression analysis, while mentoring other analysts in data insight derivation.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, with practical experience in R or Python.
  • Strong foundation in statistical principles, with experience applying these techniques to achieve business results (e.g., predictive analytics, A/B testing, clustering).
  • Ability to contribute to innovation and problem-solving independently.
  • Aptitude for self-directed learning of new skills and technologies, with a focus on problem resolution.
  • Passion for knowledge sharing, mentoring, and coaching junior analysts.
  • Experience in delivering analytics through visualizations and interactive dashboards.
  • Familiarity with contemporary business intelligence tools.
  • Proficiency in Google Analytics, Firebase, BigQuery, or Mixpanel is advantageous.
