Job Summary

The University of Notre Dame Australia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Academic Leader in Clinical Practice to join our team as Deputy Chair for Communication and Clinical Skills. This is a fixed term opportunity to cover a period of approximately two years.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide academic leadership in the development, coordination, and implementation of the Communication and Clinical Skills domain in the medical course.
  • Work closely with the Domain Head of Clinical Skills in Sydney to develop the Clinical Skills curriculum across the National School.
  • Provide administrative leadership of the Communication and Clinical Skills team.
  • Develop and implement assessments for the Clinical Skills learning outcomes and clinical exam assessment items.
  • Coordinate and manage the clinical exams (OSCEs).
  • Work with other Schools within the Faculty to develop Interprofessional Education learning opportunities.

Requirements

  • Doctoral qualification or equivalent accreditation and standing.
  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Experience in teaching and assessment of clinical skills in health settings.
  • High level interpersonal and communication skills required for teaching and counselling medical students and staff.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills and the ability to work effectively in a flexible and collaborative environment.
