About the Role

The University of Notre Dame Australia is seeking an experienced Academic Leader to coordinate and deliver the Basic and Clinical Sciences component of the teaching in Years 1 and 2 of the Doctor of Medicine program in Sydney.

Key Responsibilities
  • Co-ordinate and teach the BCS curriculum within the Foundation Years, including lectures, laboratory sessions, tutorials, and other activities for the School.
  • Train, brief, and supervise lab tutors and demonstrators in delivering practical and workshop teaching activities.
  • Lead the planning and updating of the BCS curriculum, including development and updating of lectures, laboratory activities, tutorials, and online teaching resources.
  • Innovate in the design of teaching, including the use of learning technologies.
  • Develop and implement systematic and integrated teaching practices informed by scholarship and research for the program.
  • Co-ordinate with the assessment team to ensure the development, alignment, blueprinting, evaluation, and renewal of high-quality assessment items in the BCS Domain for exams and continuous assessments.
  • Implement effective assessment practices and conduct exams.
  • Evaluate student engagement data and make changes to teaching practice and student outcomes at the School level.
Qualifications and Skills
  • A PhD or Fellowship is preferred. A minimum of a Master's degree, or a Fellowship of the College, or equivalent professional experience is required, along with an undergraduate qualification at minimum.
  • Experience in teaching at Masters level or higher, or in medical, health sciences, or professional practice-based education settings.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering high-quality learning and teaching practices in multiple modes, including online delivery.
  • Proven ability to work as an effective member of a team and lead a team.
  • Experience in collaborative-based learning environments.
  • High level of pastoral care to students.
  • Maintenance of currency in scholarship and professional practice in the relevant discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience incorporating innovative technology into teaching and learning.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Salary: $138,367 - $158,744 per annum (Level C) + 14.25% superannuation (pro rata).
