Project Engineer/Field Engineer

  • Plan and support service projects from conception to completion. These projects may involve process analysis, equipment specification, supply, shutdown services, construction supervision, pre-commissioning, commissioning, plant start-up, and performance testing.
Key Objectives:
  1. Lead service projects by engaging with clients, vendors, suppliers, sub-contractors, and company management to execute the contract scope.
  2. Execute onsite construction and installation supervision, inspections, pre-commissioning, commissioning, testing, and start-up of the plant.
  3. Prepare equipment and systems for operation according to the contract requirements, specifications, and procedures.
  4. Generate or support the development of site work procedures necessary to safely execute construction and commissioning activities onsite.
  5. Provide operational and technical support in onshore and offshore locations for plants supplied by the company.
  6. Offer mechanical and process advice onsite to prepare for the pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up of the plant. Knowledge of key equipment operation and gas processing and produced water treatment process control is essential. Training will be provided.
Main Duties:
  • Plan and supervise assigned service works and projects, including onsite works, pre-commissioning, commissioning, plant start-up, acceptance testing, and project hand-over.
  • Implement and ensure adherence to company procedures and all other control measures to achieve the specific requirements of the contract, including quality, safety, efficiency, budget, and schedule.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of relevant data relating to assigned service projects, such as check records, reports, SDRs, TQs, log-books, operational hours, production rates, plant or personnel incidents, safety records, work permits, risk assessments, abnormal occurrences, site documentation, drawing mark-ups, etc.
  • Compile project completion and site handover documentation.
  • Troubleshoot plant operational problems as required.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with clients and contractors.
  • Expedite early service project completion to specification, including all necessary pre-commissioning, commissioning, operations, contractual testing, and trial operations, leading to a successful hand-over and issue of acceptance certification.
  • Report on any observations or recommendations concerning methods for improving the company's product, engineering, performance, or other aspects of its operations through the company's continual improvement system.
  • Prepare construction and commissioning work packs prior to site mobilization.
  • Prepare and present client and company staff training in conjunction with other company personnel.
  • Support service and commissioning activities from the office, including remote technical support for ongoing site operations. This includes being the point of contact for the client and maintaining a technical level of construction and commissioning support remotely.
  • Liaise with internal company disciplines to provide quick, cost-effective solutions to live problems, such as projects, warranty, engineering, process, C&I, tendering, document control, QA/QC, healthcare, and health & safety.
  • Attend bid clarification meetings, kick-off meetings, client and company meetings.
  • Prepare and review RFQ documentation to enable vendors, suppliers, and contractors to accurately estimate costs and supply fixed-price bids.
  • Able to travel domestically and internationally at short notice for potentially extended periods of time.
  • Undertake other duties that may be required from time to time.
Requirements:
  • At least 10+ years' experience in design, construction, commissioning, start-up, or servicing of process plant, or 5+ years' experience in the oil and gas sector.
  • Unrestricted Australian driving license.
  • Unrestricted ability to travel both domestically in Australia and internationally.
