Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Operational HR Professional to provide strategic support across our three mine sites.

This role will appeal to individuals who enjoy working in a diverse, fast-paced environment where they partner with the business to deliver practical HR operational support.

You will be part of a small HR team, adding real value to the organization. Regular site travel will be required, but flexibility is offered to base yourself in either Brisbane or Mackay.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting the execution of business strategies and operational objectives
  • Providing advice and support on employee relations and industrial relations issues, with the ability to quickly assess risk and escalate as necessary
  • Leading enterprise agreement negotiations and guiding leaders through the process
  • Representing HR on projects and committees across the business
  • Providing training and information sessions on HR topics
  • Offering advice on workers' compensation cases as needed
Requirements
  • Significant experience in a hands-on operational HR role, preferably in a mining or heavy industry environment
  • Excellent knowledge of industrial relations legislation, with experience dealing with unions
  • Tertiary qualifications in HR or a related field
  • The ability to respond quickly to issues and provide excellent support to leaders
  • Collaborative skills and flexibility to assist with other HR functions when needed
