Environmental Health and Safety Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Environmental Health and Safety Lead to join our team at City of Shakopee, MN. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for creating a safe and healthy work environment for all employees, contractors, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities- Lead Risk Management: Develop and implement a comprehensive risk management approach to identify, assess, and mitigate potential hazards and risks in the workplace.
- Conduct Audits and Inspections: Perform regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with safety procedures, regulations, and industry standards.
- Develop and Implement Safety Programs: Design and implement safety programs, training, and procedures to promote a culture of safety and well-being.
- Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with employees, contractors, and external partners to ensure effective communication and collaboration on safety-related matters.
- Investigate Incidents: Conduct thorough investigations into incidents and near-misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and Maintain Safety Policies: Develop, maintain, and communicate safety policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide Training and Support: Provide training and support to employees on safety procedures, protocols, and best practices.
- Monitor and Report Safety Metrics: Monitor and report safety metrics, including incident rates, training completion rates, and compliance with safety regulations.
- Experience: At least 3 years of experience in a safety role, preferably in a mechanical workshop or a similar industry.
- Certifications: Cert IV Training & Assessment or proven experience delivering HSE training and minimum Cert IV WHS, or a willingness to obtain.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of safety regulations, industry standards, and best practices; excellent communication, training, and leadership skills.
