Key Responsibilities:

  • Risk Management: Maintain and monitor HSE risk registers and risk assessments to proactively identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Documentation Control: Prepare and manage various HSE documents including tender information, procedures, HSE Management Plans, and reports.
  • Reporting and Compliance: Compile and deliver monthly HSE reports detailing performance and compliance metrics.
  • Health and Safety Alerts: Create and disseminate health and safety alerts to communicate critical information to the business.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to government regulations, legal requirements, and ethical standards in quality assurance.
  • Training and Development: Provide guidance, coaching, and mentoring to staff, aligning with company values.
  • Health and Safety Inductions: Develop and deliver content for health and safety inductions for employees and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.
  • Worker Engagement: Communicate and consult with workers to foster a healthy, safe workplace culture and reporting environment.
  • Emergency Response: Maintain and manage emergency response procedures and protocols specific to Australia.
  • Health and Safety Representatives: Work closely with Australian Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs) to facilitate H&S related improvements.
  • Incident Management: Record HSE inspections and audit findings, reporting on safe work practices and recommending improvements.
  • Wellness and Fitness-to-Work: Oversee wellness and fitness-to-work programs, including managing work-related injuries, medical conditions, drug & alcohol testing, rehabilitation, and fatigue management.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly experienced Health and Safety Specialist with at least 3 years of experience in a role with significant health and safety responsibilities. You will have proven expertise in risk assessments and implementing risk management strategies.

Requirements:

  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience in a role with significant health and safety responsibilities.

  • Communication Skills: Effective written and oral communication skills with a high level of reporting accuracy.
