Job Overview

The primary objective of this role is to deliver timely, person-centred care in various settings, including emergency departments, psychiatric emergency care centres, access areas, and inpatient wards.

Main Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and initiate immediate interventions with seamless transitions between acute and community services.
  • Develop and implement triage and care plans in collaboration with consumers and families, provide acute care and follow-up services, advocate for rights and access, and partner with services to support people's well-being in the community.
  • Work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team with minimal direct supervision, utilising strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to exercise independent professional judgement.
Key Qualifications
  • Current registration to practice as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA).
  • Experience working with individuals presenting with acute mental health issues, advanced reasoning skills, and a working knowledge of the NSW Mental Health Act 2007.
  • Ability to collaborate with consumers and carers regarding mental healthcare, understanding of recovery philosophy and trauma-informed care in Mental Health, and current Driver's Licence with willingness to travel for work-related purposes.
