Job Title: Turf Maintenance Specialist

About the Role:

  • This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to join our team and gain hands-on experience in turf maintenance.
  • You will work closely with our experienced staff to develop practical skills and knowledge associated with presenting city spaces.
  • Through this role, you will have the opportunity to rotate through various areas of open spaces, including turf/sportsfield maintenance and greenkeeping.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain sports turf surfaces to a high standard.
  • Support the Open Spaces team in achieving their goals and objectives.
  • Participate in ongoing training and guidance from workplace mentors.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Certificate III in Sports Turf Management Course or equivalent.
  • Ability to obtain formal qualifications and four years of practical experience upon completion.
  • Eligible for additional tickets such as MR truck license, forklift ticket, loader competency, and more.

Benefits:

  • Temporary full-time position up to 4 years or duration of apprenticeship.
  • 38 hours per week with access to 9 day fortnight.
  • On-the-job training.
  • Compulsory course costs paid by Council.
  • Approved leave to attend TAFE.
