Key Role

The Groundsperson role at Royal Randwick is a vital position that requires the successful candidate to maintain the course proper, training tracks and grounds to a high standard.

Responsibilities include operating plant equipment such as tractors, mowers, front end loader forklift, power sweepers, power harrows, brush cutters, hedgers, push mowers and general spray operations.

Additionally, routine maintenance of turf, synthetic, artificial and other surfaces will be conducted.

Essential Requirements
  • A proven track record in a similar role, preferably in turf management.
  • General operational and mechanical maintenance skills.
  • Appropriate licenses to operate specialist machinery such as manual vehicles, front end loaders and forklifts.
  • Experience in operating plant and equipment including Bobcat, Grader and Excavator.
  • Sound knowledge and practical experience of handling and spraying chemicals.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Enjoyment of working outdoors.
  • A positive attitude.
