Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Grounds Maintainer to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for maintaining the course proper, training tracks, and grounds at one of our racecourses.

This is a permanent full-time role that requires a strong work ethic and attention to detail. You will work closely with our experienced team to ensure the highest standards of turf management and presentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the course proper, training tracks, and grounds to ensure they are always presented in the best possible condition.
  • Undertake general maintenance work including labouring, cleaning, tracks, gardens and maintenance instructions.
  • Operate plant equipment such as tractors, mowers, front end loader forklift, power sweepers, power harrows, brush cutters, hedgers, push mowers and general spray operations.
  • Conduct routine maintenance of turf, synthetic, artificial and other surfaces.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role, preferably in turf management.
  • General operational and mechanical maintenance skills.
  • Appropriate licences to operate specialist machinery.
  • Experience in operating plant and equipment including Bobcat, Grader and Excavator would be desirable.
  • Sound knowledge and practical experience of handling and spraying chemicals.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Sound verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Enjoy working outdoors.
