About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Terminal Operator to join our team at Pacific National. As a key member of our depot team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe movement of trains within our terminal.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate forklifts and gantry cranes to move trains and equipment within the terminal.
  • Conduct shunting and train examination duties to ensure trains are prepared for departure.
  • Inspect trains and equipment to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain a safe and secure working environment, adhering to Pacific National's safety policies and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to ensure trains are assembled and dismantled efficiently, meeting customer requirements.
About You

We are looking for a motivated and safety-conscious individual who is passionate about ensuring the well-being of themselves and others in a fast-paced work environment. You will have excellent communication skills, be able to multitask, and work well under pressure.

Requirements
  • Current LF licence (Forklift)
  • Current gantry crane licence (an advantage)
  • Strong commitment to enforcing a safety culture
  • Ability to work in a dynamic 24/7 shift work environment with flexibility and commitment
  • Excellent communication skills and team focus
  • Current motor vehicle license and good mechanical aptitude
