About the Role

The Operations Supervisor is a pivotal position within our client's Port Giles terminal, responsible for planning and coordinating day-to-day operational tasks. This role ensures the terminal operates smoothly and efficiently, meeting high-quality standards across all business facets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the receival, storage, and loading of grain, providing guidance and hands-on support to operational staff.
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate stock movements according to operational requirements.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by upholding site safety procedures, conducting regular inspections of equipment and facilities, and ensuring risk assessments/permits are compliant.
  • Maintain accurate records of grain transactions, quality assessments, and operational reports.
  • Manage labour and material costs according to site budget.

About You

We're seeking a proactive leader with a solid track record in operations management, particularly in settings that require meticulous attention to safety and regulatory compliance. Experience in grain handling and bunker management is highly desirable, but those from a manufacturing/logistics background are also encouraged to apply.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in grain handling and bunker management (Highly desirable)
  • Excellent leadership skills and the ability to build rapport within a team.
  • Proficient in implementing health, safety, and quality protocols, ensuring compliance targets are continuously met.
  • Certificate IV in Frontline Management (Preferred)
  • Open driver's licence, and the ability to obtain a Maritime Security Identification Card.
