We are currently seeking a senior laboratory professional to lead our field-based concrete testers and laboratory operations in Brisbane.

This role involves liaising with Concrete/Quarry Plant Managers, utilising laboratory technicians, and ensuring compliance with Australian Standards and NATA requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop effective working relationships with internal and external contacts.
  • Lead the coordination of field-based concrete testers and laboratory operations.
  • Coordinate the review and purchase of safety-related resources and laboratory maintenance.
  • Develop and provide data for training and competency plans.
  • Measure and review the efficiency and effectiveness of laboratory operations.
  • Manage corrective actions and continuous improvement suggestions.
  • Process and distribute test results and NATA certificates.
  • Plan and facilitate safety meetings and reviews.
  • Act as Laboratory Manager when required.
Requirements:
  • Extensive knowledge of NATA requirements and laboratory practices.
  • A high level of understanding of testing principles and concrete products.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and time management skills.
  • Sound leadership and participative leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP, and QESTLab.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic project management and presentation skills.
  • 5-10 years of experience in a laboratory within the building industry.
  • Qualifications in laboratory operations are highly regarded.
