Open Cut Mining Geotechnician

This role provides high-quality geotechnical support to help achieve business objectives while ensuring safety, quality, and environmental standards in open-cut mining.
You will be responsible for delivering geotechnical services by understanding, complying with, mentoring, and liaising to ensure regulatory compliance and safety standards related to ground control. This includes collecting and analyzing geotechnical data, investigating rock fall incidents, and addressing ground control issues.
The role also involves performing daily geotechnical tasks, including mine planning, drill & blast planning, survey instructions, inspections, data collection, monitoring, analysis, and QA/QC. Additionally, you will identify and manage geotechnical risks, developing systems for monitoring and mitigation.
To succeed in this role, you should have a strong background in geotechnics, mining engineering, or geological engineering. You should also have extensive experience in geotechnical engineering, particularly in open-cut mining.
