Job Title: Geotechnical Open Pit EngineerAbout the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Geotechnical Engineer to provide qualified geotechnical support in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing geotechnical services, understanding statutory compliance and safety standards related to ground control.

You will collect and analyze geotechnical data, investigate rock fall events, and address ground control issues.

Daily tasks include performing geotechnical tasks, identifying and managing geotechnical risks, developing systems for monitoring and mitigation, and collaborating with the team to prepare hazard maps and monitoring reports.

This is an excellent opportunity to work in open-cut mining with a strong background in geotechnics, mining engineering, or geological engineering.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily geotechnical tasks including mine plans, drill & blast plans, survey instructions, inspections, data collection, monitoring, analysis, and QA/QC.
  • Collaborate with the team to prepare hazard maps and monitoring reports as needed.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Geotechnics, Mining Engineering, or Geological Engineering.
  • Extensive experience in Geotechnical Engineering, particularly in open-cut mining.
  • Familiarity with Rocscience Software suite.
  • Knowledge of the Mines Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations.
  • AusIMM membership (CP preferred).
