About Open Pit Geotechnical Roles

We are seeking a skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in geotechnical engineering, particularly in open-cut mining.

A key aspect of this role is providing qualified geotechnical support to achieve development and production targets while ensuring safety, quality, and environmental standards.

This on-site position follows an 8 days on, 6 days off roster, with options to fly in/out from Perth or drive from the Goldfields region.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide geotechnical services by understanding, complying, mentoring, and liaising to ensure statutory compliance and safety standards related to ground control.
  • Collect and analyze geotechnical data, investigate rock fall events, and address ground control issues.
  • Perform daily geotechnical tasks, including mine plans, drill & blast plans, survey instructions, inspections, data collection, monitoring, analysis, and QA/QC.
  • Identify and manage geotechnical risks, developing systems for monitoring and mitigation.
  • Collaborate with the team to prepare and issue hazard maps and monitoring reports as needed.
About You:
  • Completed bachelor's degree in Geotechnics, Mining Engineering, or Geological Engineering.
  • Familiarity with Rocscience Software suite.
  • Knowledge of the Mines Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations.
  • Membership of AusIMM (CP preferred) is advantageous.
