Support Individuals with Complex Needs

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Support Worker to provide high-quality care to individuals living with complex trauma, challenging behaviors, and/or physical/clinical needs. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in assisting participants to enhance their everyday living skills, gain access to community activities, and achieve their personal goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing support with personal care, community access, and daily routines
  • Working in participants' homes or in our purpose-built Vertical Villages (SIL/SDA)
  • Managing complex needs including behaviours of concern, trauma, forensic backgrounds, and high clinical needs
  • Administering medication and following detailed health support plans
  • Implementing behaviour support plans and using de-escalation techniques
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Minimum 6 months' experience in disability, aged care, mental health, or related fields
  • Certificate III/IV/Diploma in Disability, Individual Support, Aged Care, or similar (preferred)
  • Bachelor's in Nursing is highly desirable
  • Demonstrated experience with high physical and clinical needs, including medication administration
  • Strong understanding of professional boundaries, restrictive practices, and behaviour support
  • Effective written and verbal communication, including clear case note writing
  • Able to set priorities, meet deadlines, and work under pressure with minimal supervision
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work both autonomously and as part of a team
