Job Opportunity

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team as Disability Support Workers in the Wollongong area.

Key Responsibilities:

Our Disability Support Workers will provide a range of personal care and support services, including assistance with daily living activities, grooming, dressing, cooking meals, cleaning and other household chores. They will also facilitate access to community activities and appointments, promoting independence and quality of life for our clients.

Requirements:

  • Commitment to person-centred practice and actively engaging clients in decision-making and goal-setting.
  • Passion for supporting people with disabilities to achieve their full potential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with clients, families and community members.
  • Attention to detail and ability to ensure all aspects of work are completed thoroughly.
  • Capacity to think creatively and develop innovative solutions to meet the needs of clients.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability or Aged Care (highly desirable).
  • Previous experience in disability support work, preferably in a Supported Independent Living environment.
  • Understanding and/or experience of working with diverse client groups, including those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a reliable, fully insured vehicle.
