Chemical Analyst Position

SGS Australia is a globally recognized leader in the field of chemical analysis.

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting site sampling, laboratory analysis, and fieldwork for clients across various locations.
  • The primary goal is to deliver accurate and timely results that comply with relevant standards, regulatory requirements, and client specifications.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Perform complex chemical analysis using Gas Chromatography (GC) and Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS).
  2. Develop and implement new analysis protocols for emerging service markets.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to expand the company's chemistry capabilities.
  4. Manage and execute industrial projects, ensuring quality outcomes and client satisfaction.
  5. Provide expert technical support to clients on chemical testing and analysis.

Technical Skills:

  • Extensive knowledge of GC and GC-MS techniques, including instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation, with the ability to communicate complex findings to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of environmental and industrial regulations, as well as relevant industry standards.
  • Experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and other analytical software.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a dynamic team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical)
  • Several years of experience in chemical analysis, preferably in a related industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Continuous learning mindset, with a desire to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in chemical analysis.
