Key Responsibilities- Manage and maintain accurate and consistently formatted records of our museum's objects and new acquisitions.
- Develop and implement effective collections management practices to ensure the long-term preservation and accessibility of our collections.
- Collaborate with our team to ensure seamless integration of collections management and database administration.
- Provide excellent customer service to our stakeholders, including museum staff, researchers, and the public.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in museum collections management and database administration.
- Relevant degree in Museum Studies, Information Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in museum collections management, database administration, or similar roles.
- Strong familiarity with museum cataloguing standards and database systems like EMu.
- Excellent attention to detail and efficient organisational skills.
- High proficiency in data entry, record-keeping, and documentation.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for cross-team collaboration.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to generate insights from collection data.
- Understanding of legal and ethical considerations in collections management.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise work effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Familiarity with object handling and conservation practices.
