About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Commis Chef to join our culinary team at Hilton Hotels. As a Commis Chef, you will play a key role in preparing and presenting high-quality dishes to deliver an exceptional Guest and Member experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present high-quality dishes to the highest standards, ensuring consistency and attention to detail.
  • Contribute to kitchen revenue through effective food cost control and efficient menu planning.
  • Support the kitchen brigade in maintaining a clean and organized working environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation of mis-en-place for all relevant menus, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide exceptional service and maintain good working relationships.
  • Report any maintenance, hygiene, or hazard issues to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Comply with hotel security, fire regulations, and all health and safety and food safety legislation.
  • Aware of departmental targets and strive to achieve them as part of the team.
  • Meet all health and hygiene requirements and maintain a high level of personal hygiene.
  • Be environmentally aware and contribute to reducing waste and energy consumption.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Commis Chef or Apprentice Chef, with a passion for food and the culinary arts.
  • Positive attitude, good communication skills, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Proven ability to work with a team and follow instruction, with a passion to learn and drive to succeed in a culinary/hospitality career.
  • Proof of completion in a basic food hygiene course and completion of an accredited commercial cookery course or trade apprenticeship.
  • Experience multi-tasking and working in an environment with rigorous standards.
