About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities in the agricultural sector.

The successful candidate will have a strong track record of exceeding sales targets, excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and secure new business opportunities in the agricultural industry
  • Expand the seller base across all sales streams
  • Generate and manage leads to arrange client meetings
  • Negotiate business contracts and prepare client presentations
  • Assess and value assets to determine job viability
  • Build and maintain relationships through regular client visits and calls
  • Respond to unsold item referrals post-auction

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 4 years' experience in business development, preferably in agriculture or industrial equipment sales
  • Strong industry knowledge, network, and experience in machinery, equipment, and heavy trucks; logistics experience is a plus
  • Proven success in exceeding sales targets with a customer-focused approach
  • Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills with a proactive sales mentality
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Advanced MS Office skills; experience with CRM systems is an advantage
  • A current driver's license and willingness to travel
