Job Description

This role involves championing food safety and compliance standards, playing a critical part in protecting and growing meat industry certifications and export programs.

About the Role

As a key figure in our operations, you will oversee quality systems, support internal and external audits and ensure our operations meet or exceed industry and regulatory standards.

You'll engage and educate operational teams, building a strong compliance culture across the site.

  • Safeguarding certifications and export licenses through proactive auditing and staff training.
  • Maintaining and improving food safety systems aligned with legislative, customer and industry standards.
  • Conducting internal audits and preparing the site for external audits by regulatory authorities and customers.
  • Supporting the development and delivery of educational programs to drive operational excellence.
  • Maintaining compliance with HACCP, FSANZ, Approved Arrangements and other relevant legislation.
  • Completing and managing export meat documentation and upholding Halal certification requirements.
  • Collaborating with site leaders, operations teams and corporate stakeholders to integrate food safety and quality initiatives into day-to-day operations.
Key Skills Required

- Solid understanding of food safety, compliance and quality management.

- Experience identifying root causes and implementing effective corrective actions.

- Knowledge of HACCP and a strong passion for quality assurance.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic compliance systems.

Preferred Qualifications

- Formal qualifications in auditing (ISO9001:2015) or related disciplines.

- Experience working within meat processing, abattoirs or export/import meat products industries.

- Background in GFSI Schemes (BRC, SQF, FSSC 22000, etc.).

- Knowledge of Halal certification and export market standards.
