About the Role

The Department of Education, Western Australia, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced School Psychologist to lead our team in the Pilbara region. As a Lead School Psychologist, you will provide professional leadership and support to a dedicated team of school psychologists, working collaboratively to develop the team's skills and expertise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the team of school psychologists, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality services to students and schools.
  • Develop and implement professional development programs to enhance the team's skills and expertise, aligning with the Department's policies and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with other stakeholders, including Principals, Directors, and the Department's Chief Psychologist, to ensure effective communication and coordination of services.
  • Travel within and external to the region, including overnight stays, to provide support and guidance to schools and teams.
  • Provide board-approved supervision to provisionally registered psychologists, ensuring they meet the Competency Framework for School Psychologists.
Requirements
  • Hold or be eligible for general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
  • Obtain a valid Working With Children Check before starting.
  • Consent to a National Criminal History Check with the Department's Screening Unit.
  • Have achieved Advanced Skills School Psychologist status for permanent appointment to this position.
