Are you looking for an ocean-outback adventure while shaping the future of Design and Technology education in WA? Hedland Senior High School (SHS) is seeking a proactive, dedicated, and enthusiastic Head of Learning Area – Design and Technology to join our Senior Leadership Team.
As the HOLA – Design and Technology, you will work with an outstanding and collegiate team to develop a culture of high quality teaching practices in the Design and Technology learning area. You will evaluate teaching practice effectiveness, develop a high performing and collegiate team, and manage a significant budget. Through embedding our Hedland Instructional Model, the applicant will create authentic learning environments which cater to student diversity, interests and needs.
The successful applicant will possess excellent interpersonal skills and promote effective and distributed leadership within the learning area. They promote and foster academic aspiration and engagement in an environment where achievement is celebrated. Collaborating with your team, you will implement whole school policies, processes, and procedures, embedding a culture of professional leadership, trust, and continuous improvement for all our students and staff.
The successful applicant will be a proactive and enthusiastic educator who is passionate and highly effective in leading whole school improvement. Making data-based decisions, the successful applicant will have the ability to think and plan strategically and identify innovative and practical solutions to challenges whilst working collaboratively to create improve student outcomes. You should be a resilient and agile leader with a growth mindset.
As a culturally responsive practitioner, you will create and sustain a student-centred learning environment built on strong relationships, working collaboratively to implement strategies to meet the diverse needs of students and their families. You will communicate effectively and vary your leadership style to obtain the best outcomes for all, whilst modelling and promoting the school’s vision, mission, and values.
Hedland SHS, located in the Pilbara, is an Independent Public School catering for students from Year 7 to Year 12.
