About this Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic payroll team in Sydney CBD. This is a 12 month fixed term contract role that provides the opportunity to work as part of a collaborative and supportive payroll team, working for a high performing insurance company within the financial services sector.

As a Lead Payroll Specialist, you will report into an experienced Payroll Manager and will be offered excellent mentorship to further develop your payroll skills. You will ideally have experience with end to end processing and experience using a range of systems including Preceda, Workday, etc.

This permanent position offers flexible / hybrid working from home and the office. The salary offering is between $110,000 - $120,000+ super depending on experience.

About You

  • You will possess 5+ years of previous experience processing end to end payroll, preferably with knowledge and experience using the Preceda system.
  • You will have the ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently, interpreting awards and legislation, and operating with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • End to end payroll processing for 1400 + employees on a fortnightly basis using the tier 1 payroll system, Preceda.
  • Ensure compliance and adherence to all relevant industry awards and stay up to date with any changes to legislation.
  • Preparation of monthly payroll reports and end of year processing.
  • Preparation and payment of all State and Federal tax obligations including PAYG tax, Payroll tax, Superannuation Guarantee contributions.
  • Managing superannuation, leave entitlement and payments.
  • Liaise with ATO on any issue.
  • Answering all payroll queries from internal and external stakeholders.
