Aboriginal Child Protection Caseworker Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Aboriginal Child Protection Caseworker to join our team.

This is an Identified role, open only to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander persons who share our commitment to supporting vulnerable children and families in New South Wales.

About the Role

The successful candidate will play a vital role in addressing complex problems and developing effective solutions for families in need.

  • Sensitive Support: Provide empathetic and respectful support to parents, family members, children or young people, taking into account their unique needs and circumstances.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other agencies to address complex issues and develop tailored solutions that meet the needs of each family.
  • Risk Assessments: Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential safety concerns and develop plans to mitigate them.
  • Case Management: Manage high-needs and high-risk cases, working closely with clients and their families to achieve positive outcomes.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Relevant diploma or degree qualification preferred.
  • Experience: At least two years' experience working with vulnerable children, young people, and their families.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients.
  • Verification: Documented verification of Aboriginality confirming Aboriginal descent and identity.
