Family Wellbeing Specialist

We prioritise the safety, welfare and wellbeing of the child or young person. Our team works to keep families together, enabling children to thrive at home.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with parents, family members, children or young people in a sensitive manner
  • Engage in complex problem-solving with other agencies
  • Assist families in formulating goals that align with their needs, addressing safety and well-being concerns
  • Develop safety plans and complete thorough risk assessments
  • Manage cases involving high-needs and high-risk clients effectively
  • Participate in court processes, including document preparation and attendance
  • Engage in regular individual and group supervision sessions
Requirements:
  • Confidence, curiosity, and resilience are essential for this role
  • A completed Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, Social Science, or Welfare is required, along with practical experience
  • Other relevant degrees are considered if you can demonstrate knowledge, skills, and experience working with vulnerable children, young people, and families
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to build positive working relationships are crucial
  • A valid driver's licence (P1 or above) and paid working with children clearance number are necessary

This role requires making tough decisions to help families overcome hardships and provide safe and loving homes for their children.
