Job Title: Aboriginal Family Support Specialist

This is an exciting opportunity to provide culturally sensitive support services to local Aboriginal families.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality family support services, assessing client needs, and developing tailored support plans to address identified issues.

  • Deliver intensive family support services that are culturally appropriate and responsive to the needs of Aboriginal families.
  • Assess family needs and develop comprehensive support plans that address identified issues.
  • Provide practical assistance, mentoring, and counselling to promote positive change and improve family well-being.
  • Facilitate access to relevant community resources and services to support families in need.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and contribute to program evaluation.
Requirements:
  • Significant experience working with Aboriginal families and communities.
  • Demonstrated expertise in providing holistic family support services.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients.
  • Strong problem-solving and case management skills.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in social work, community services, or a related field.
  • Cultural competence and a deep understanding of Aboriginal culture and community.
