
Senior Aboriginal Intensive Family Support Worker

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Senior Aboriginal Intensive Family Support Worker at WADJAK NORTHSIDE ABORIGINAL COMMUNITY (ABORIGINAL CORPORATION) in partnership with MercyCare, located in Mirrabooka/Joondalup, Western Australia. In this full-time role, you will play a crucial part in providing intensive family support services to the local community.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, culturally appropriate intensive family support services to Aboriginal families in the local community
- Assess family needs and develop tailored support plans to address identified issues
- Provide practical assistance, mentoring, and counselling to families to promote positive change
- Facilitate access to other relevant services and community resources
- Maintain comprehensive client records and contribute to the evaluation of the program
- Work collaboratively with other team members and community stakeholders
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the family support services
What we're looking for
- Significant experience in the Child Welfare, Youth & Family Services industry, with a strong understanding of the challenges faced by Aboriginal families
- Demonstrated expertise in providing intensive, holistic family support services
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients
- Strong problem-solving and case management skills
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in social work, community services, or a related field
- Cultural competence and a deep understanding of Aboriginal culture and community
- Willingness to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
