Program Management Officer Role
Job DescriptionThe Program Management Officer will play a critical role in managing and overseeing various initiatives within the Federal Government. They will be responsible for monitoring and tracking key milestones, managing program risks, and ensuring effective monitoring and evaluation in accordance with Departmental requirements.
This involves driving the establishment of a Fellowships Program, including designing a process, mapping and engaging stakeholders, managing implementation, undertaking outreach and communications, managing governance and oversight mechanisms, and risk management.
Additionally, they will support the design, procurement, implementation, and oversight of media capacity building programs. This includes promoting consistent messaging by clients both internally and through their whole-of-government, bilateral, and multilateral engagement.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage development program risks and ensure effective monitoring and evaluation.
- Drive establishment of a Fellowships Program, including designing a process and managing stakeholder engagement.
- Support design, procurement, implementation, and oversight of media capacity building programs.
- Promote consistent messaging by clients.
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:
- Demonstrated knowledge in an area of focus relevant to the department and an understanding of global affairs.
- Strong program management experience.
- Ability to develop and manage complex relationships with stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage tasks, work autonomously, and escalate issues as necessary.
