Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Approvals Advisor to join our team in Central Park, Perth. This role will be responsible for managing Rail, Facilities, and HME approvals for Sustaining Capital projects, working closely with Project Leads and internal stakeholders to ensure all necessary approvals are obtained in line with project schedules and governance.

Main Responsibilities
  • Screening and triage of projects to streamline the approvals process, identifying potential issues and solutions early on;
  • Providing expert advice on Approvals Requests (ARs) to Project Leads to find optimal solutions;
  • Utilizing GIS technology for desktop reviews and polygon creation;
  • Conducting site reconnaissance with Project Leads and Construction Advisors to identify AR issues and familiarize themselves with project sites;
  • Traveling to project sites to resolve AR issues that arise or meeting with stakeholders such as Traditional Owners, government representatives, etc.;
  • Maintaining stakeholder relationships with Project Leads, Approval Teams, and SMEs;
  • Coordinating approvals with stakeholders, including attending meetings, presenting, and coordinating at team meetings;
  • Facilitating separate project/subject meetings and communications as needed;
  • Submitting and managing specific project ARs;
  • Reviewing and problem-solving changes in approval requirements/timelines from SMEs or the project team;
  • Participating in RTIO improvement projects such as LAMS, as requested;
  • Forecasting project planning support provision;
  • Conducting in-field AR auditing activities by regular ad-hoc site trips to support projects.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of ARCS and Approvals processes, preferably with professional relationships with Rail SMEs;
  • Background in an AR SME discipline (environment preferred), such as environment, heritage, bio, tenure, etc. required;
  • Strong people and communication skills to build relationships and facilitate approvals and project needs;
  • Ability to travel to project sites and Perth as required;
  • Capacity to work effectively in an environment with fast-changing priorities;
  • Ability to problem-solve complex situations and forward plan;
  • Knowledge of rail networks and rail/facilities construction is preferable;
  • A current C-class driver's license.
Salary

The estimated annual salary for this role is $85,000 - $110,000 AUD, depending on experience.
