Job Title: Environmental Approvals Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Approvals Specialist to join our team in WA's Pilbara Region. As a key member of our environmental management team, you will be responsible for securing environmental approvals across all Atlas operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain primary and secondary environmental approvals to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements;
  • Provide technical advice to support approvals and develop fit-for-purpose approvals and compliance capabilities within the business;
  • Support the development and execution of environmental approval documents across all Atlas sites;
  • Undertake Environmental Impact Assessments to identify potential risks and provide advice on recommended mitigation strategies;
  • Represent Atlas Iron with external stakeholders pertaining to environmental and compliance matters;
  • Maintain project schedules and budgets to ensure projects stay on track and within allocated resources;
  • Assist with coordinating environmental contractors across various Atlas sites;
  • Promote environmental awareness, assessment, and management processes across the broader business;
Requirements:
  • Completion of an Environmental Science Degree (or equivalent) or relevant experience in approvals and compliance;
  • At least 2 years of experience gained from within the resources sector working in an approvals and compliance capacity;
  • Relevant experience and/or sound understanding of environmental approval processes pertaining to Commonwealth and State Environmental Approvals;
  • Proven experience in applying environmental legislation relevant to mining practices;
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including stakeholder liaison and report writing;
