About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Approvals Coordinator to join our team at WorkPac. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a leading organization in the mining industry, responsible for managing rail, facilities, and HME approvals for Sustaining Capital projects.

As a Senior Approvals Coordinator, you will be working closely with the Principal Portfolio Management team and internal approvals teams to ensure all necessary approvals are obtained in line with project schedules and governance. Your primary responsibility will be to manage approvals processes, including screening and triaging projects, advising on Approvals Requests, and facilitating stakeholder relationships.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Screening/triage of projects to streamline the approvals process, identifying issues, solutions, timelines, and potential use of existing approvals;
  • Advise Project Leads on Approvals Requests to find the best holistic solution;
  • Utilize GIS for desktop reviews and polygon creation;
  • Conduct early site reconnaissance with Project Lead and Construction Advisor to identify project AR issues and become familiar with the project site;
  • Travel to site to resolve AR issues that arise or meet with stakeholders such as Traditional Owners and government department representatives;
  • Create and maintain stakeholder relationships with Project Leads, Approval Team, and SMEs;
  • Coordinate approvals with stakeholders, attending and presenting at team meetings;
  • Establish separate project/subject meetings/communications as required;
  • Submit and manage specific project ARs;
  • Review, problem solve, and communicate changes in approval requirements/timelines from SMEs or the project team;
  • Participate in RTIO improvement projects like LAMS, if requested;
  • Forecast project planning support provision; and
  • Conduct in-field AR auditing activities through regular ad-hoc site trips to support projects.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of ARCS and Approvals processes with a professional relationship with Rail SMEs preferred;
  • Background in an AR SME discipline (environment preferred) with experience in heritage, bio, tenure, etc.;
  • Strong people and communication skills to build relationships and facilitate approvals and project needs;
  • Ability to travel to site and Perth, as required;
  • Capacity to work effectively in an environment with fast-changing priorities;
  • Problem-solving skills to tackle complex situations and forward planning;
  • Familiarity with rail network and rail/facilities construction is preferable; and
  • A current C-class driver's license.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per annum.
