Infrastructure Asset Condition Assessment Specialist

This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance and maintenance of various infrastructure assets within the Townsville City Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Developing and prioritizing a 10-year capital renewal and upgrade plan for various infrastructure asset types.
- Creating condition assessment programs for different infrastructure asset types, predicting either the probability of failure or the remaining lives of assets.
- Developing condition models based on statistical techniques to predict asset degradation curves.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise on asset condition and performance to inform strategic decision-making.
- Develop and implement condition assessment programs for various infrastructure asset types.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize capital renewal and upgrade projects.
- Develop and maintain condition models to predict asset degradation and identify potential risks.
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering and eligibility for membership of the Institution of Engineers Australia.
- Current 'C' class driver's licence.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in performing analysis in various information technology systems, including the Microsoft Office suite, GIS, and Business Management Systems.
- Years of experience as a condition assessment engineer or related roles.
- Highly demonstrated experience in preparing ten-year renewal and upgrade capital works plans.
- Highly demonstrated experience in performing physical condition assessments, such as vibration analysis, ultra sonic analysis, thermography imaging, etc.
- Extensive knowledge of relevant legislation, codes, and guidelines relating to the QLD Local Government Act and appropriate asset management standards.
