Empowering Relationships and Sexuality Support

We are seeking a skilled Relationship Counsellor to join our multidisciplinary team. This role empowers individuals to navigate sensitive topics with dignity, respect, and confidence as they explore their relationships and sexuality.

About Us:

We are a not-for-profit disability service provider supporting people with disabilities to live life on their own terms. With over 90 years of experience and a strong presence across three states, we provide personalised and empowering support to our clients and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support clients in navigating sensitive topics related to their relationships and sexuality.
  • Work in a person-centred way, respecting the sensitivities and boundaries of each client.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to legislative, ethical, and practice requirements.
  • Develop and sustain trusting relationships with clients, fostering a safe and secure environment for them to explore their concerns.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in counselling, such as a Diploma or higher.
  • Membership with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) or as an accredited PACFA Registrant.
  • Demonstrated experience in counselling, including therapeutic modalities relevant to working with individuals and groups.
  • A solid understanding of legislation, ethics, and best practices, including confidentiality, anti-discrimination, and mandatory reporting.
  • Knowledge of NDIS policies and procedures.
