We are seeking an experienced Project Planning Specialist to join our team on the Southwest Metro Corridor Project in Canterbury NSW. This is a great opportunity to make a significant impact in rail infrastructure as part of one of Australia's most highly regarded construction companies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and assess detailed project plans for all stages and facets of the project to ensure timely delivery.
  • Identify key milestones, prepare daily reports, and maintain the project controls database.
  • Implement and monitor Project Controls processes across the project.
  • Lead a planning and controls culture based on best practice, focusing on risk management, cost control, and SQE.
  • Early identification and communication of issues and opportunities to the Projects team.
  • Collaborate with project staff to coordinate information flow for planning and controls functions.
  • Implement project monitoring systems, particularly focusing on time, cost, resources, and quality.
  • Support Project Managers in report interpretation, analysis of project performance, forward planning, and development of corrective actions.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary degree in Engineering, Construction, Building, Sciences, Architecture, or Project Management, or equivalent experience.
  • 8 years' experience in building, MEP, civil, or rail within Australia.
  • Demonstrated application of planning principles.
  • Proficiency in planning software and tools such as Primavera Project Planning, Time Chainage Charts, Program Forensic Analysis, Earned Value, and Cash Flow Analysis.
  • Experience in project planning delivery on large-scale construction projects, ideally rail projects.
