About the Role

">

The CEO will play a key role in advocating for the community transport sector, driving policy change, and representing its interests to government and stakeholders.

">

They will oversee the organisation's operations, including compliance, governance, risk management, and the implementation of the strategic plan.

">

The role involves building relationships with members, government agencies, and securing funding to support the sector.

">

As the primary leadership role, the position works with the board to ensure sustainable growth and positive change for the organisation and the community transport sector.

Key Responsibilities

">
  • Strategic Leadership and Governance: Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic and annual operating plans.">
  • Advise the Board on opportunities, risks, and grants, and ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and constitutional obligations.">
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Advocacy: Build and maintain impactful relationships with government, regulators, industry groups, and key stakeholders.">
  • Conduct research, prepare sector-relevant submissions, and deliver public presentations to advocate for the organisation and promote its interests.">
  • Financial Management and Funding: Support with budgeting, auditing, funding acquittals, and securing additional funding opportunities and ensure sound financial management practices and compliance with reporting requirements.">
  • Membership Engagement and Communication: Lead membership support initiatives, developing high-value benefits such as training, resources, and communications to enhance member engagement.">
  • Oversee marketing, website, and social media efforts, ensuring effective communication and increased organisational visibility.">
  • Operational Management and Coordination: Oversee day-to-day operations, including cost control, insurance management, HR, and office operations.">
  • Identify and implement technology improvements to streamline processes.">

About You

">

The successful CEO will have:

  • A strategic and innovative mindset with proven ability to drive strategy and lead change initiatives, with expertise in developing and aligning strategic and operational plans to meet organisational objectives while advising on risks, opportunities, and compliance.">
  • Experience advocating for organisations across all levels of government, collaborating with policymakers, legislators, and agencies to influence decisions and advance the organisation's mission.">
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in managing a professional association or membership-based organisation, with comprehensive knowledge of the not-for-profit sector, including relevant legislation, standards, and best practices.">
  • A passion for building strong teams, promoting a supportive and innovative work culture, and creating a unified sense of community.">
  • Understanding of member engagement, including creating value-added benefits and overseeing marketing, communications, and digital platforms to increase visibility and member involvement.">

$120,000 - $150,000 per annum
